PiMoney is a free personal financial management tool which consolidates your finances across your bank accounts, credit cards, loans and investments, encrypted through a secure channel, to help you see a complete picture of your finances.
To help you budget and manage your finances, PiMoney makes sense of your spending and automatically sorts your expenses into intuitive categories such as shopping, phone bills, utility bills, grocery, etc. You can also create your own categories anytime, helping you to see where and how you spend, and find ways to save money.
To protect your personal data, our technology requires users to install the recommended software. This Digital Locker (the PDV) ensures that your financial information is encrypted solely on your computer or mobile device, so that no external party has access to your login details for your bank accounts or other financial institutions which you have linked on PiMoney. By installing the PDV, you’ll be protecting yourself from the risk of your data being compromised.
Once you have downloaded the recommended software, simply click on the “Sign Up” button, fill in your email address, set up a password and you will be taken straight into the tool, ready for you to add accounts and start using.
At the login page, click on “Forgot Password” and enter your registered email address. An email will then be sent to you containing instructions to reset your password.
Most errors are temporary and trying again will normally result in success. If you continue to get error messages, please contact us for assistance at firstname.lastname@example.org.
This is because you need to refresh your bank accounts each time you log into PiMoney, simply by clicking the refresh icon. Whilst we understand that this may cause some inconvenience to users, this measure ensures that only our users can retrieve their financial information when they want to. No external party (including ourselves) can access your financial information in the background.
This is most likely to occur when you are logging into PiMoney from a new computer or mobile. In order to provide you with the highest level of security, our technology works in such a way that you will see details only on the computer and device from which you have previously added your bank accounts, credit cards and financial institutions.
When you log in from a new device, you will need to link your accounts again to sync your details with other devices.
It is your responsibility to ensure that your PiMoney login userid and password are not shared with anyone.
We have added most of the major banks and financial institutions on PiMoney, but if there is a provider you’re using which is not on the list, we are happy to add them in for improved user experience. Please send an email marked New Provider Request with the relevant details to email@example.com.
PiMoney does not store your online banking credentials (username and password) at any time – these are encrypted and stored on your own device, made possible by our Digital Locker (the PDV installation). These details will never leave the safety of your own device and even our team at Pisight does not have access to this information.
Moreover, PiMoney works on a continuous basis to create a secure access environment. We use 256-bit SSL encryption and have also verified our environment by external parties for our security arrangements.
PiMoney starts by connecting to your bank accounts, credit cards, loans and investments once you link each account using your password details for that account. Once entered, any login and financial institution details are immediately encrypted and stored (in encrypted form) in your own device using multi-layered software encryption.
With your bank account login details which are saved in your device, you communicate with your bank using the PiMoney platform and your data is imported directly into your device. At no point in the process does PiMoney or any third party have access to your login details and password. Once transaction data is imported to your device, we quickly and automatically categorize your transactions, giving you a complete financial picture.
Once entered, any login and financial institution details are immediately encrypted and stored (in encrypted form) in your device via a multi-layered software encryption. At no point in the process does PiMoney or any third party have access to your login details and password.
To ensure all your data is safe, we adhere to the most rigorous of industry standards for transmitting sensitive financial information. We protect all data using advanced 256-bit encryption, equivalent to that used by banks. We do not store any of your bank login details on our server.
You are not required to provide any personally identifiable information in order to create an account. We require only your email for us to be able to help your reset your password in the event that you forget it. We do not ask for your full name, physical address or date of birth, which protects you from having any financial information attached to your identity or anyone accessing your personal information.
Banks rightly encourage their internet banking customers to be careful in order to prevent fraud and to protect their passwords from misuse. There is a clear distinction between the misuse of passwords, and using them in a secure environment to allow you to better manage and understand your own money.
Remember that you are logging into your bank accounts yourself and no third party, including our team at PiSight, have any access to your login credentials. Therefore, you are not sharing your bank login credentials with anyone. PiMoney provides a service designed to help you get the most out of your data, by providing you with a complete financial picture to empower your financial life.
Some banks explicitly acknowledge the benefit of aggregation services, including tools such as PiMoney, in their Terms and Conditions and therefore directly permit aggregation. Others do not; however, this does not necessarily mean they do not want you to aggregate your accounts. Some banks, perhaps understandably, may be reluctant to endorse any external organisation unless they have undertaken rigorous checks on them.
Take the same actions to protect your PiMoney account as you would for any accounts with your personal financial information. We recommend that you:
No. PiMoney is not a transactional service unlike a bank. It is a service that gives you great ways to view your data and manage it through tools. No one (not even you) can move or remove money from your financial accounts via your PiMoney account.
